The 2023 Honda Civic Type R's appearance is more subdued than its predecessor's, but this should not prevent it from being more engaging to drive. Only available as a hatchback, the Civic Type R is derived from the 11th-generation Civic, which was examined independently.
The New Civic Type R employs the same turbocharged four-cylinder as the previous model, but with output increased to 315 horsepower and 310 lb-ft. The front-wheel-drive Type R's six-speed manual transmission has also been altered to accommodate the increase in power, and brake cooling has been enhanced to withstand track day abuse. The CTR's new 19-inch wheels will be available in five colors, including the famous Type R Championship White, beginning later this fall at dealerships.
