KTM's latest X-Bow model is an attempt to create a street-legal version of the company's famed race cars. The GT-XR reportedly weighs less than 2500 pounds and generates 493 horsepower.
KTM, an Austrian company better known in the United States as a maker of motorcycles, has a new road-legal X-Bow model called the GT-XR. Since 2008, KTM has been manufacturing the X-Bow. The GT-XR is essentially an air-conditioned, Bluetooth-equipped, and rearview mirror-free roadgoing version of the X-Bow GT2. KTM opted for a jet fighter-style canopy in place of doors.
The past KTM performance has left us extremely impressed. On our yearly Lightning Lap test, the original X-Bow lapped VIR in 2:52.3. When our editor-in-chief took the 2019 X-Bow Comp R out for a spin at California's Sonoma Raceway, he came away impressed by the vehicle's "properly capable" performance.
